Wine & Champagne
The first room to greet you at The Wright Wine Company is a floor-to-ceiling array of world wines and select champagne.
As well as specially selected wines from Rhône Valley, Loire Valley, Alsace and the South of France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, German & Austria, the rest of Europe and of course the New World too. We also have a great selection of fortified wines, dessert wines, sparkling wine and of course Champagne.
We are very proud of our Champagne selection and now offer a fine mix of famous “houses” along with artisan growers. Every style imaginable is represented and across a complete range of price points. In addition, there is a stellar range of top vintages – including some of the greatest years going back 30 years! From feather light Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs to richer Pinot Noir and Meunier based blends; with a broad offering from the fashionable Rosé category.

Celebrating Bordeaux
Along with Champagne, no other region has managed to build such an enviable reputation through the combination of the high-quality production and hard PR. The irony though is that less than 1% of the total number of estates and producers are driving the whole category and the top end image.
In addition, prices have risen exponentially for the greatest names and dragged up many others in their wake. We have focused on the challenge these days to strike a balance between sourcing iconic names and vintages, whilst searching out estates which offer the best price to quality ratio. Styles, also these days, often depend as much on the estates production philosophy and methods as their origins, so this approach has become increasingly more important for us.
Burgundy Cellar
Burgundy is the most terroir sensitive and complex viticultural area in France – with over 150 different AOCs! For many this is one of the most interesting, even romantic regions. It also, thankfully, remains one of the most unspoilt. The spiritual home of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, few regions can compare to Burgundy for producing both dry white and red wines of world class, side by side.
For this, Burgundy certainly deserves it’s own dedicated space.

Whisky Room #1
It doesn’t seem so many years ago that we had just one whisky room – the addition of the second signalled the beginnings of a change in the drinks market, and our expansion programme too.
Our first whisky rooms contains scotch whiskies from the traditionally recognised Scotch Whisky regions; Highland, Lowland, Speyside, Campbeltown and Island. (Islay is in room 2!).
We hold regular tasting events for whisky, and try to visit the distilleries in person where possible. This gives us some great insight and background information for us to share.
As well as core range, we often stock limited editions, travel retail and collectors bottlings.
For the true whisky connoisseur, or indecisive beginner, we regularly have more than 100 whiskies open for sampling. Just make sure you have a designated driver please…!
Whisky Room #2
Just when you thought the first whisky room made you spoilt for choice…
Our second whisky room includes an extensive Islay range, including some limited edition Ardbegs and hard to come by Port Ellen too.
Other shelves are stocked full of whisky from around the world; UK, Wales, Japan, Sweden, Canadian, Indian, Ireland and USA Whiskey too (Bourbon, Rye, Corn).
We also stock some glassware, such as Glencairn nosing glasses, a range of miniatures and good selection of de-luxe whisky blends and whisky liqueurs too.

Gin Room
We currently stock several hundred gins, including many from Yorkshire and Lancashire. (We like to support local!).
As with our whisky room, we have a large number of bottles open to taste and are more than happy to give our recommendations on appropriate garnishes.
Sneaking into the corners, this room is also home to a growing range of Rum, Vodka and Tequila too.
Brandy, Vintage Armagnac and Cognac
Why we don’t yet have a photo of this is beyond us as it includes some of our oldest bottles on display – some from the early 1900’s!
